A 2 bed Mental Health EBD children's home in Wolverhampton, needing 3 Support Workers on a permanent basis. Your new company This job is working for a small, Midlands based organisation, that is looking to expand. They currently have 2 homes, one in Wolverhampton and the other in Birmingham. They support young people with very complex and often traumatic histories, maintaining a child centred approach, considering the young people as individuals. They offer a joined up service for CAMHS and Looked After Children, offering Family Therapy and a range of therapeutic services such as play based therapy, equine therapy, art therapy and CBT. The organisation has in house Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Therapists, who work along side the care team to deliver bespoke therapeutic care packages. Your new role The home in Wolverhampton is a newly registered (January 2020) 2 bed EBD home, with an experienced staff team in place that they are looking to expand on and strengthen. As a result, they are looking to employ 3 Support Workers on a permanent basis. There is currently one young person living at the home, who is being supported on a 3:1 basis. A second young person will join them, once the level of support for the current young person is reduced. Located in the North of the City of Wolverhampton, this home is easily accessible by both car and public transport. Shifts are 0730-2230-SLEEP-0730-0800 on a 1 on, 2 off shift pattern. Overtime is paid at time and a quarter. What you'll need to succeed You will need to have at least 6 months experience of working in a residential children's home, supporting young people, ideally with EBD. You will have a passion for supporting young people in general, but especially utilising (or learning to utilise) a variety of techniques to support young people with additional mental health needs. This job is ideal for a therapeutic Residential Support Worker, who is looking to gain or expand their experience, working with young people with Mental Health needs.
