The Role Each day at Rainsbrook STC you will safeguard, supervise and mentor our 12-18 year olds who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention. You will play a key role in helping the young people in your care to build their skills and experience, motivating and inspiring them to fulfil their potential and turn their lives around. This is certainly a diverse and hugely rewarding role but can be extremely challenging at times too. The children and young people detained here at Rainsbrook can often be confrontational and unpredictable so you will need to remain calm, confident and resilient, with a supportive ‘firm but fair’ approach to deal with a variety of situations effectively. You will need to be a positive role model for our young people, taking a proactive approach to behaviour management and goal implementation to encourage change. Experience of working with young or vulnerable people is desirable but not essential. Hours Rainsbrook STC operates 24 hours a day, therefore our staff member will work on a rotational shift pattern that includes weekends and some night shifts. You can expect your shift pattern to look something like this: Days: 7.30am - 9.30pm (3 days a week) Weekend work every other weekend Nights: 9.15pm - 7.45am (once every 16 weeks you would work 7 night shifts, then have 7 days off) Interested in joining our fantastic team?
