Mechanical Design Engineer - Hampshire - Competitive Salary & Benefits A well established defence organisation is seeking to employ a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Hampshire based, complex engineering environment. Working within a low volume environment, the successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the completion of cradle to grave design projects, taking customer requirements through to installation and integration. Other responsibilities include concept and detailed design, 3D modelling and assembly, tolerance analysis, conducting DFMEA's (Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), and working with the machine shop to achieve suitable fabrications. In order to be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have proven mechanical design engineering experience within a relevant engineering environment. 3D modelling experience using a top end 3D CAD package i.e. Autodesk Inventor, Creo, Catia, Solidworks etc. is also essential, as is an ability to accurately capture customer requirements and take designs from cradle to grave. It would be advantageous to have experience of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), Cable Harness design, and / or fabricated enclosures design. This opportunity is based in Hampshire and is commutable from Fareham, Portsmouth, Southampton, Gosport, Isle of Wight, Farlington, Cosham, Drayton, Horndean, Waterlooville, Havant, Denmead, and other locations within the Hampshire region.
