Overview
Buyer - 6 months contract - Leading Defence company - £19.20 ph Umbrella or £14.61ph PAYE - Portsmouth Advantage Resourcing are currently recruiting for a Buyer to work for a 6 month contract in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will be joining a leading defence company. Due to the nature of this client candidates will be required to undertake a basic level of security clearance before starting the role. The successful Buyer will be required to support and manage the end to end procurement process. Responsible for the estimating activity of materials, ensuring requirements related to cost, quality, delivery and export control are competitively achieved in line with the project time scale requirements. The core duties will include; Identify optimum sources of supply to compile a competitive estimate, in line with project bid requirements to meet business output Be commercially aware and to establish strong working relationships with suppliers Monitor and report on market trends and movements Skills/experience required; Experience of SAP Systems - in particular procurement Buying experience across a range of commodities Experience in supplier selection Detailed experience with the Request for Quotation process Experience negotiating ethical price deals Please apply without delay as there is a deadline with this role.
