Overview
Do you have strong IT Infrastructure Architecture based skills in a primarily Microsoft centric environment with in-depth knowledge of either VMware or Citrix? Could you be interested in working in a fresh environment where you will be able to have a large impact on both the baselining of current designs & documentation and where you will be a key person designing the future technology and IT solutions (including public cloud Azure & AWS) for this successful, positive and growing organisation? Superb opportunity for an accomplished IT Infrastructure Architect whose technology stack experience is predominately in Microsoft and either, VMware or Citrix. This is a brand new role for a high quality technology company where the culture is focused on empowering individuals by providing responsibility, ownership and accountability. The company provides both infrastructure and software applications for enterprise scale clients in a defined sector. Focused on IT Infrastructure, this role will suit a proactive, passionate and best practice led IT Architect which have covered Cloud, Datacentre and on-premise solutions. In the initial phase your core goal will be to baseline the current environment in terms of designs, design process, documentation, DR & Maintenance plans, Licensing control and optimisation. You will be key in terms of looking at future technology developments, releases and solutions from key vendors / suppliers such as Microsoft, AWS, VMware, Dell, Zerto, VEEAM etc. This will also include attending the main industry annual events. In summary, you will provide Architectural oversight for the implementations, and future IT and Cloud strategy for this company. You will also be involved in some 4th line escalations, internal IT (design, strategy, resilience, security), and occasional pre-sales. To be suitable for this opportunity you will have existing IT Infrastructure Architecture skills and experience in the spheres of Microsoft, VMware and/or Citrix. It is desirable to have worked in conjunction with external datacentres. It is also desirable to have had any experience of working with Software Development teams to design and test reference architectures. The role can be more hands-on or less hands-on depending on your preference but overall you will have a very strong technical background in either VMware or Citrix solutions along with the core Microsoft technologies. It is desirable to have experience of both public and private cloud environments. Salary £55K to £65K dependent on experience.
