Overview
As an IT Security Specialist, you will perform monitoring of the IT service usage, ensure compliance with IT Security policies, offer specialist support and guidance to the wider business and carry out technical assessments of the IT environment. You will have experience in vulnerability assessments, writing and implementing policies and documentation and providing 2nd/3rd level support on security incidents. You will have experience in vulnerability assessments, writing and implementing policies and documentation and providing 2nd/3rd level support on security incidents. You will be joining a small, dedicated security team, where there are new strategies and objectives being set in place. You key responsibilities will change day by day, as this is an incredibly broad role, giving you the full spectrum of IT responsibilities. You will cover vulnerability assessments, threat intelligence, writing and implementing policies and documentations and ensuring that the business as a whole is performing under a safe and secure remit. Please find below some of the key responsibilities: Perform proactive monitoring of the organisations IT services Measure compliance with IT security policies and maintain industry leading security standards across the whole IT estate. Perform security assessments such as vulnerability scans and application testing Liaise with all internal business functions and stakeholders, being a clear communicator both internally and externally Act as a central contact point for IT Security audit related activity Provide second / third level support on IT Security incidents Maintain an ongoing assessment of emerging threats and vulnerabilities recommending enhancements /improvements /innovation where necessary Ensure that the annual security assessment is completed Your working knowledge, Skills ad Desirable experience: Strong IT Security knowledge, with ideally two years experience Understanding of IT risks, controls and mitigation techniques Strong and effective communication Expert in vulnerability scanning techniques Working knowledge of Qualys Excellent attention to detail Experience with McAfee desirable Good knowledge of ITIL processes Understanding of network/directory technologies Vulnerability detection and remediation Stakeholder management Good problem solver Strong business/customer relationship builder
