Overview
Senior IT Support Engineer, 2nd/3rd Line, Northampton, £35k plus benefits: A leading IT organisation situated in the Northampton area is looking to recruit a Senior IT Support Engineer’s to join their growing business. With a combination of 2nd/3rd Line support, both remote and hands on, there is also a good level of IT projects covering infrastructure, hardware and software rollouts. This Senior IT Support Engineer role would be perfect for someone wanting to make the step from a 2nd line role or someone who is already at an established 3rd line level. Role & Responsibilities: 2nd & 3rd line technical support - including but not limited to server and desktop operating systems, hardware, application software, networks and data back-ups Overflow support and assistance to 1st line technical support Provide technical and operation guidance to technical engineers, acting as a mentor whenever possible and promoting the company team behaviours Manage and assist in the deployment of hardware and software rollout projects - will involve travel and overnight weekday stays across the UK The successful Senior IT Support Engineer will need previous experience and general skills around the following areas: 5 years of 2nd/3rd line technical support experience with demonstrable ability to troubleshoot difficult technical server and workstation issues In-depth knowledge of Windows Server O/S 2012-2019 Experience of virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V and VMware) Active Directory & Group Policy TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP Network and server installations Microsoft Azure Administration Office 365 Deployment and administration Router, firewall, WIFI and switch configuration Backup software and technologies Understanding of ITIL operations If you’re a Senior IT Support Engineer with experience in the above areas, please get in touch with your CV by applying to this advert.
