Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a senior laboratory analyst to join a leading materials testing organisation at its facility in Redhill Surrey. As a senior laboratory analyst, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of chemical and physical tests on material samples via FTIR, GC-MS/FID and LC. In addition, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance, upkeep and running of the laboratory and ensuring accordance with laboratory SOP's and ISO17025. To be successful as a senior laboratory analyst you should hold a relevant degree in chemistry or closely related discipline and possess industrial experience ideally from an analytical or material testing laboratory and have a working knowledge of ISO17025. Senior Laboratory Analyst Key Responsibilities: Conduct experiments, chemical and physical testing using a range of analytical techniques, instrumentation and software. (FTIR, ISE/pH, GC-MS/FID) Ensuring laboratory equipment in working order in line with laboratory SOPs/Methods and Quality Management System compliant to ISO 17025. Work closely with the lab manager to improve the overall performance and output of the laboratory. In the absence of the lab manager, you will take on additional duties including: Scheduling work in accordance with customer requirements Communicate with customers in relation to all testing application, quotations and progress. Perform internal technical/witness audits, assist with quality and external audits. Senior Laboratory Analyst Key Requirements: Hold a relevant degree in chemistry or closely related discipline. Possess industrial experience ideally from an analytical or material testing laboratory. Aptitude to take on a leadership role in the when required. Previous experience using analytical instrumentation: LC, GC-MS, FTIR. Sound knowledge of ISO17025. Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
