Overview
The role The role will involve taking responsibility for all the administrative and reporting needs for the team and providing invaluable support to the Claims Adjusters and Claims Manager. The successful candidate should demonstrate a keenness to learn about the claims process and develop their role in order to become an integral and invaluable support to the effective running of the team. Key accountabilities Department overview The BTE Claims team deal with assessing and managing indemnity provided to policyholders for the purpose of pursuing/defending a range of legal action, including employment, property and contractual dispute and fitness to practise investigations. The role will involve taking responsibility for all the administrative and reporting needs for the team and providing invaluable support to the Claims Adjusters and Claims Manager. Duties and accountabilities Determining if all relevant information has been provided when a claim is first notified Take responsibility for various administration tasks including scanning, claims record keeping and manual claims processing tasks to support the claims adjusting functions Implementing claims diary management and closure of claims (subject to team procedures) Managing incoming and outgoing post Miscellaneous secretarial duties as and when needed Assisting the Claims Manager and adjusters in project work Skills & experience Skills, knowledge and experience ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities Excellent organisational skills Familiarity with office management procedures Excellent knowledge of MS Office especially Microsoft Excel and Outlook Ability to multitask while meeting and adhering to agreed standards DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS Proven experience as an office administrator, office assistant or relevant role
