Overview

An exciting opportunity is now available to a join leading UK Insurance Group in a home-based role, who due to continued growth are now seeking to appoint someone to join them as Head of Underwriting Standards. Again, this role will be home based with the expectation of regular travel to offices in London (and other locations as required) They are currently looking someone to be a key partner in the development of their Delegated Authority Framework, which sees them acting on behalf of their insurer partners in the development, distribution and underwriting of their products. Reporting into the Head of Delegated Authority, as Head of Underwriting Standards this role will see you provide reliable and expert advice to the business in relation to the underwriting standards and philosophies required for delivering Delegated Schemes & strategic initiatives. You will design and implement the underwriting standards framework, review underwriting rulesets as necessary, and work with the Delegated Authority Operational team to roll out updates to underwriting elements and IT product specifications. They are looking for someone who has expert knowledge of general insurance product lines coupled with expert knowledge of insurance underwriting principles. You will also need a high level of prose literacy for writing policy wordings and excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to act with integrity, to be innovative and a team player. The CII qualification would be advantageous but is not essential if you have the experience above. Salary on offer is £65-70,000.
