Overview
Data Architect job, based in London, 3-6 month contract, £450-550 day rates, (within IR35 scope) I am looking to recruit a Data Architect on behalf of my client, a government based department, located in London, however other locations available to work from such as Bristol, Warrington, Reading, York. My client, is specifically looking for experienced Data Architects. Due to somewhat high volumes of applications for these roles, if your CV is too solution implementation focused, are a Data SME or are more so a Solution/Enterprise Architect, then unfortunately we will not be considering these applications at this time. Background The Data Architecture team conducts two primary functions; 1. Data Architecture on Programmes and Projects 2. Data Domain Standards, Guidance and Roadmaps Primary Purpose You will design and build data models to fulfil the strategic data needs of the business as defined by chief data architects. You undertake design, support and provide guidance for the upgrade, management, de-commission and archive of data in compliance with data policy. They also provide input into data dictionaries. Key responsibilities You will deliver data architecture artefacts for the organisation and supports senior data architects. Covering the following: Creates data models and metadata systems and helps senior data architects to interpret project and programme requirements. Supports and maintain the architecture vision and roadmaps for their domain. Identify opportunities for the use of existing or new data domains in delivering more effective business outcomes and services. Ensure that the design of end to end business and IT services and changes are consistent and conformant with strategy, architectural principles and standards and are supportable, sustainable, appropriately governed and deliverable Actively support and contribute to the Data Architecture Profession aspects of the team function by providing insight and hands-on experience into one or more data concern Successful candidates will exhibit the following skills, experience and knowledge: Experience of IT project architecture, design and delivery in an applications or solutions architecture capacity or in a development capacity. A practical understanding of architectural models of application and solution delivery and also of delivery methodologies and ways of working. Hands-on experience and knowledge of at least one solutions stack or product ecosystem coupled with a broad understanding of the range of application technologies which may be selected from to deliver required capabilities.
