The Technology team are responsible for developing attractive websites that generates new business and delivering services to customers for the products the company provide through a variety of platforms such as Mobile Applications, Websites, Messaging Platforms and AI. They have a multi-disciplinary team with a variety of skilled individuals including software developers, designers, business intelligence and stakeholders at all levels within the business.They work within their team and other departments across the group to produce products and services that deliver great experiences to their customers. Role: The Full Stack Developer is part of a growing team building the next generation of digital tools in their industry. These tools will allow them to create more 'digital first’, multi-platform services to give their customers more control. You will be joining a department which has a philosophy of continuous improvement, and a strong focus on engineering excellence. They are looking for team players who hold a strong passion for software development, can pick things up quickly and can work with progressive changes to their technology stack and methodologies.The department is built around a solid agile delivery framework so in turn, the right candidate will have to be delivery focused and able to manage multiple tasks effectively. You will report into the Lead Developer but also collaborate closely with other developers, development teams and stakeholders within the business to deliver projects under the scrum framework. Role Responsibilities: Deliver features using agile development practices and by writing beautiful, maintainable code in the front and back end of their systems. Work under a TDD mind-set with regression testing at the heart of the development strategy. Partner with your colleagues in Pair Programming and Code Reviews. Contribute to the estimation and implementation of user stories/requirements helping to shape the technical design, UX and implementation. Produce code against their set of defined technical standards and processes. Provide timely and effective progress updates on all tasks to the development team and the business with their established project management tools; escalate any issues that will impact on delivery in respect of deadlines, quality, and standards immediately. Review, update and produce system documentation as required. Liaise with other departments in the business such as Infrastructure and IT to ship your code and help with support of live issues. Provide cover during out-of-hours live deployments and maintenance periods if necessary. Assist the business with user acceptance testing as necessary. Ensure all development adheres to non-functional (e.g. Security, Availability, Capacity, etc.) requirements and standards Ensure all code is stored in the appropriate source control system as a part of a continuous integration cycle. Technical Requirements: Significant commercial experience using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with libraries such as Angular and React for producing well-designed websites and/or applications. Significant commercial experience developing services and APIs with C#, ASP.NET and SQL with techniques such as domain-driven design and MVC. Practices Test Driven Development and is comfortable with various test frameworks and concepts. Experience with a Source Control solution like Git and VSTS/TFS. Understanding of Agile software development methodologies. Comfortable with debugging and profiling tools to track and solve issues in software. Experience deploying to a cloud computing platform like AWS and Microsoft Azure. Proven experience developing on large scale and high traffic customer web products and services.
