Then Patient Transport Services at South Central Ambulance Service is the place for you The role: This is a driving role in a C1, van-sized vehicle with manual transmission. We are recruiting Ambulance Care Assistants, working with patients to ensure they are transported safely and punctually for their non-emergency appointments. The work involves caring for the most vulnerable in society so a caring nature is essential. There is also a need to be capable of lifting, as some of our patients are not able to make their own way to our vehicles. You will be collecting and transferring patients from their home or healthcare setting to attend pre-arranged appointments, including hospital admission. As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you have a crucial driving role within South Central Ambulance Service. You will be based in Eastleigh or our surrounding areas and will join part of our successful patient focused team. About you: This role is ideal for those looking for their first patient facing role, to gain knowledge of SCAS and become equipped for further opportunities within the Trust. You will have some experience of working in a customer or patient care role. You will have a warm, welcoming and friendly nature and be able to reassure the patients in your care. We will equip you with all the clinical skills you need to perform this role. You be willing to work a variable roster pattern covering 7 days per week (including bank holidays). A sample roster is attached to this advert under the additional vacancy documents. A full current driving licence (with B and C1 categories and no more than 3 points) You will be willing to commit to a three week, full time training programme based at our Newbury Resource and Education Centre.
