Overview

The primary objective of this role is to provide meaningful and timely analysis and add value to the school; supporting and advising budget holders’s and supporting the Finance Manager and Financial Controller. Main Duties: Control Account Reconciliations including bank Managing the company credit cards Managing trip accounts Raise non fee related invoices and chase payment Processing income from events and other activities Prepare analysis and reconciliations as required to assist with the month end Monitor the accounts inbox and deal with queries received in a timely manner Liaise with supplier, governors, staff and parents Provide cover for other roles within finance Checking supplier Statement reconciliation's/accounts, ensuring all information is up to date/clearing debit balances on a monthly basis Processing manual and urgent payment requests. Experience Previous experience in an Accounting/Finance role and an understanding of basic accounting concepts Previous experience of working in a busy, multi-functional office A self-starter looking to develop a career in Finance Understanding and exposure to a recognised accounting package. Skills Reasonable level of experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and working towards proficiency in Excel with a working knowledge of vlookups, subtotals and pivot tables Detail focus and a systematic and methodical approach to your work excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels; effective problem solver; good numeracy and literacy skills; Ability to ensure that all practices and protocols of the accounts function continues to develop and remain up-to-date and in line with best practice and regulations Person Specification Well organised with proven ability to prioritise, working to deadlines whilst under pressure Accurate with an eye for detail Be a team player, who is able to work well under pressure whilst still maintaining a high level of accuracy Articulate and accurate with an eye for detail ability to work and stay calm under pressure; able to work individually as well as on own initiative; confident, self-motivated and proactive; enthusiastic and ability to learn; Have a flexible approach to working, be well organised, proactive, forward thinking and able to make appropriate decisions using own initiative Confident, self-motivated, conscientious and reliable, with the ability to prioritise workloads, working with a minimal amount of supervision. Honest, trustworthy, reliable, resourceful, flexible, punctual and committed Qualifications GCSE Maths at grade C (or equivalent) or above essential Min AAT qualified
