Overview

Broster Buchanan is working exclusively with a listed business that specialises in acquisitions and turnaround across Telecommunications, Media and Technology sectors. The company is made up of six high caliber senior executives that have significant experience across the market and have an entrepreneurial approach to delivering shareholder returns. Since its founding, day to day finance and compliance activities have been provided by a high-quality outsourced provider. To best position the company for the next stage of its development, it has been decided to establish an in-house finance team that can grow and adapt with the business. Having recently appointed a Finance Director to set up and lead the function, the business is now looking for a Head Office Accountant to support the organisation in all aspects of finance and compliance. The role will be fifty percent focused around finance activities including overseeing day to financial operations; helping with financial and management reporting; budgeting, forecasting and FP&A; and supporting special projects and financial transactions from time to time. The other fifty percent of the role will work on compliance, company secretarial, and other administrative duties as required. Significantly, the organisation is fast-changing and agile, and so for the right person there is scope to shape the role relative to the company objectives. Given the unique nature of the organisation and the significant level of change the business experiences, it is important to find someone with the right approach and mindset who will thrive in this environment. Best suited to someone who enjoys finance but likes the idea of working in a hands on and varied head office position, the successful applicant will have the following experience: An accountant who is part qualified, finalist level or qualified by experience Practical experience in a range of financial operations processes and producing management accounts in a corporate environment Some exposure to company administration and statutory compliance required in a UK listed company Resilient and effective communicator within excellent stakeholder relation skills Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to be self-directed and comfortable working in a small organisation As well as the opportunity to work with and learn from some impressive names within the industry, this role offers a competitive basic salary and package subject to experience, the ability to work flexibly relative to the business cycle, and a variety of softer benefits.
