Overview
Senior Java Software Engineer A great new role in the South West for a major tech employer in the middle of a technology transformation The firm are hiring several Java Software Engineers, particular at a 'Senior-level' that can help to transform both their platform but also their culture. They are transforming from a monolithic to a microservices architecture, plus evolving engineering practices to a 'DevOps' culture. As such part of the role involves helping to set-up, manage and refine CI/CD pipelines, working closely with QA and Platform teams to increase Automation in testing & deployments and ultimately improving the cadence & quality of releases. Engineering-wise, the role involves 'dockerising' the codebase into microservices and orchestrating with Kubernetes. Their wider solution involves consuming a number of API's so knowledge of REST, SOAP and even XML would be massive, plus ESB's like MuleSoft Fundamental requirements: In-depth knowledge of Java 8 Experience of common frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot and Hibernate Excellent problem-solving skills, including a broader understanding of the wider architectural issues that affect software performance A passion for code quality and an ability to instil those values into other team members Oscar Technology is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
