Care Worker - Driving Licence Essential £9 per hour - week days £9.50 per hour - weekends Full Time & Part Time including evenings and weekends Permanent following successful 6 months probationary period Our client has built a reputation for delivering high quality care-at-home over nearly two decades in North Leeds. Prime objectives of the Post ·To promote and support LJWB’s Vision : Positively Changing Lives. ·To provide an ethnically sensitive domiciliary care service to members of both the Jewish and local community, which underlines their right to choice, control, independence, dignity and quality ·The domiciliary care worker is responsible for providing quality practical and personal care and support for people inside their own homes.Tasks are carried out in accordance with individual care plans. ·To undertake a range of tasks to maintain, support and care for people living in their own homes in the community, allowing them to achieve maximum independence. Key responsibilities and range of duties ·Perform tasks outlined in the service users care plan ·To be able to maintain high standards of care provision ·To encourage and enable people using the service to maintain their independence and dignity ·To respect the confidential nature of the work ·Use Iconnect equipment supplied in the correct manner for which it is intended ·Follow Iconnect process and procedure. ·To undertake or supervise personal care of service users, namely: -Assisting with bathing/showering/strip wash/toileting -Using manual handling equipment as specified -Keep accurate care records -Applying ointments/lotions/creams/eye drops/ear drops (after training) -Assisting with prescribed medication (after training) -Preparation of users’ meals -Shopping, payment of bills, collection of prescriptions and pension -Assisting with dressing/undressing -Assisting with domestic tasks, i.e. washing, ironing, vacuuming, dusting etc. ·To ensure a safe and hygienic working practice/environment ·To provide a high standard of Personal Care and support to Service uses within their own home. ·To report any changes in the service user’s requirements ·To co-operate with relatives, carers and other agencies ·To make yourself fully acquainted with Moorcare policies and procedures, Code of Practice and service document ·To respect the religious and cultural beliefs of service users ·To cover weekdays, weekends, evenings and Bank holidays as required. ·To contribute as part of the team in the monitoring of people’s needs and determining how to meet those needs. ·To maintain, as required, adequate records relating to the people being cared for. ·To have regard and comply with health and safety legislation and the welfare of the people being cared for. ·To undertake training and development as appropriate to ensure knowledge and skill levels are maintained and developed to meet core competencies. ·To undertake any other duties commensurate and falling within the scope of the post ·An expectation that the post holder will participate fully in supervision and appraisal.
