Overview

As an Analyst on the Performance and Capacity Management team, the primary tasks are focused on developing reports, and assisting with forecasts. This role demands solid technical understanding of a number of operating systems, HP-UX, Windows, and Linux servers, databases (SQL Server, Oracle), and others. Key Responsibilities include: • Participate in the identification of strategic-level analysis tools for the extraction, manipulation, analysis, and reporting of performance and capacity metrics • Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to the variety and volume of data in response to ongoing metrics across a wide variety of systems • Develop and/or enhance reports with performance data • Evaluate performance of server platforms and generate reports. • Perform component-level Capacity Management for server-level resources. • Generate the trend analysis report on Disk Drive, CPU usage, Memory usage, Processor Queue length and Availability of the servers. • Perform second level problem determination using monitoring and data collection tools. • Analyze performance data, identify exceptions and recommend alternative resolutions. • Produce ad hoc resource usage reports and analysis. • Raise incidents to the concerned teams to resolve performance-related problems • Work closely with Database Administration, System Administration and Tools Team. • To manage, control and predict the performance and capacity of operational services. This includes initiating proactive and reactive actions to ensure that the performances and capacities of services meet their agreed targets. • Participate in the identification of strategic-level analysis tools for the extraction, manipulation, analysis, and reporting of performance and capacity metrics • Develop baseline performance and capacity metrics (including CPU, memory, storage, etc.) for in-scope servers; contribute as an individual contributor and/or among a team of analysts • Communicate solutions and potential risks to internal teams and management. Analyze system performance and capacity management across the enterprise. • Contribute to and/or develop capacity forecasts based on upcoming project initiatives • Model Capacity and produce forecasts using systems and business metrics. • Develop baseline performance and capacity across systems, identifying trends • Identify areas of improvement and concerns and provide action plans. • Perform trending analysis of capacity metrics This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89841187
