PragmatIC continues to grow We urgently require a senior engineer to join our fast growing and dynamic team in the post-fabrication processing of FlexICs. Do you have a background in high volume micro-electronic manufacturing, preferably in the area of post-fabrication assembly? Do you have experience in specifying new advanced manufacturing equipment and the subsequent introduction to high volume manufacturing? Can you demonstrate an ability to mentor and help lead a team of engineers and technicians in complex problem solving and process development? Key tasks Develop robust, high yielding and stable processes operating on structured polymer films at high volume including laser-based processes and bonding of electronic components using conductive adhesives. Develop innovative, cost-effective equipment in partnership with vendors Provide high quality mentoring and training to engineering, operational and maintenance staff Produce effective reports, publications and presentations in a professional manner Qualifications and training High level experience in electronic component processing and assembly (MUST) Degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical), Physics, Materials Science Experience in laser or photonics processing Green belt Lean 6 sigma certification or higher Knowledge of electronic bonding including conductive adhesives Skills and experience Experience of materials processes using lasers Confident ability to inspect and interpret thin-film processes using microscopy. Exposure to the processing of delicate materials such as thin films, polymers or bio materials Understanding of some of the techniques for fabrication of micrometer-scale devices and structures, such as photolithography, thin film deposition, injection moulding, ink-jet printing. Ability to work with equipment suppliers, developing trials, specifications and tracking projects for the supply of advanced processing equipment. Use of Quality Systems in development and manufacturing. Familiarity with the use of quality-enhancing techniques such as 8D, FMEA, fishbone, 5 Whys etc. Demonstrable innovation within an industrial environment Strong and demonstrable problem-solving skills to support product development and manufacturing. Experience of high volume automated pick and place manufacturing of electronic components. Ability to mentor and lead colleagues in technical developments.
