Distribution Shift Manager

DISTRIBUTION SHIFT MANAGER - circa 46.5K- Reading Our client, a European market leading supplier to the service industry in the UK, are currently looking for an experienced Transport Shift Manager to join an already successful team. The Role As the Distribution Shift Manager, you will be reporting directly into the site Distribution Manager, assisting with the overall leadership for all aspects of the transport operation as well as supporting the overall requirements of the site. Assisting against the management of a sizeable fleet of LGV's and staff across a large geographical area, this demanding but exciting role requires the successful applicant to be experienced in the management of all aspects of a fast-paced transport operational environment and able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of transport legislation and its application within a multi drop operation. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities of the Distribution Shift Manager are: Customer Service & Communication skills internal / external Ability to lead and inspire a team, driving continuous improvement with overall service to customers/contracts Recruitment, retention and training / development for the depot Contributing to key projects and objectives for both the depot and the business Management of 3rd party maintenance provider and service level agreements Cost control - budgetary management experience Experience of different fleet performance management systems Managing a fleet of circa 150 vehicles Working within a multi-temperature environment Experience of and compliance to internal quality management systems and transport legislation Knowledge, Skills, Experience You will have worked within a similar role as a Distribution Shift Manager or a Transport Manager for a smaller organisation who is looking for the next step in your career. If you have the following skill set, we would love to hear from you At least 3 years experience of managing other supervisors and large teams within a fast-moving Transport / distribution environment (priority will be given to candidates who have previously worked within a multi-temperature-controlled depot but this isn’t essential) Computer literate Results focused with the ability to lead from the front Good communication skills Prepared to be "hands" on when the need arises Calmness under pressure Energetic, Flexible and motivated approach CPC Qualification (essential) Please apply with your CV today
