Import Transport Planner
Overview
Professional Staffing Services are currently recruiting an Import Transport Planner for a global transport and logistics company. Based in Purfleet, this is a permanent position offering a generous salary depending on experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning to a number of European markets and will need to have good knowledge of the road freight industry. Working Hours: - Monday to Friday. - 09:00 to 17:00. Duties of the Import Transport Planner: - Part load and full load planning of trailers. - Combine part loads with groupage, ensuring expected service levels are met whilst keeping cost effectiveness in mind. - Rate negotiation and sourcing of hauliers. - Communicate with other offices, reporting specific requirements or discrepancies. - Communicate with drivers and hauliers. - Ensure legislative compliance in all areas. - Arrange with approved hauliers for transport of cargo . - Prepare all correct documentation and instruct the UK warehouses to load cargo in a timely manner. - Follow transport regulations, maintaining awareness where relevant. The Ideal Import Transport Planner: - Good knowledge of the road freight industry and previous experience within a similar role. - Will be results orientated with a positive outlook. - Good financial awareness, as well as being organised and punctual. - Be organised and punctual. - Happy to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment, whilst coming up with new ideas and solutions. - Good communication skills, both written and verbally.
