Senior Buyer Manufacturing, Chemicals, Polymers, Adhesives, Composites Based in Northamptonshire Job ref: EKG/49703 Salary: £38776 to £43623 Benefits:Profit related pay, medical insurance, pension, bonus and a range of other non-monetary additional benefits (e.g. on-site swimming pool and subsidized canteen). The Company: Our client is a leading chemical and polymer manufacturer operating from five factories across the globe and with additional new ventures in Canada, South America and India. The company manufactures, sells and distributes a wide range of synthetic resins and polymers to many different markets. The Role: Responsible for the sourcing of assigned raw materials, packaging, goods & general services; to include energy and electrical & mechanical engineering items. The negotiation and ongoing management of purchase contracts and lease agreements covering UK site capital equipment, operations and site services, including leased company fork lift trucks and vehicles. To operate within the wider Group business in order to leverage on opportunities for Global procurement savings and to purchase at lowest total cost. Key Responsibilities: ·In conjunction with all key stakeholders, to develop strategies for the purchase of goods and general services for the UK business and to seek procurement synergies across the wider Group. ·Work with operations to secure safe and cost effective solutions for purchased mechanical & electrical engineering equipment & associated engineering services. ·Provide full procurement support for all UK capital equipment purchases and lease agreements, seeking to obtain equipment items at lowest total cost for the UK and, as appropriate, the wider Group business. ·In conjunction with Planning, and based on obtaining relevant forecasts from individual business managers, to manage the timely sourcing of all allocated raw materials to ensure ongoing stock cover for all allocated materials at lowest total purchase cost and seeking purchase synergies with other Group sites requirements as far as is possible. ·In conjunction with Planning, and based on obtaining relevant forecasts from individual business managers, to manage the timely sourcing of all operational packaging requirements in order to meet operational needs, ensure ongoing stock cover for all packaging materials at lowest total purchase cost and seeking purchase synergies with other Group sites requirements as far as is possible. ·Provide current and forecast pricing and materials supply data for all direct raw materials, packaging and services purchased. As appropriate, to highlight expected trends in sourced pricing likely to impact the UK and wider Group businesses. ·Ensuring implementation of the Company Car Policy in line with company policy guidelines. ·To regularly appraise the UK Purchasing Manager, as necessary, of all significant price and/or supply issues likely to have a future impact on the UK and wider Group business.
