Overview

A leading retail and wholesale FMCG business in the East Midlands is looking to recruit a Category Buyer to manage the Purchasing and Sourcing Strategy for one of their key categories. They are a fast growing business with significant investment from the owners and thus it will be an evolving role as the business continues expand and diversify. About the role Reporting to the Head of Buying, this will be a high-profile role where you will be required to enhance the product range by sourcing new suppliers as well as nurturing the relationships with the current supply base. You will play a lead role in shaping the companies sourcing methods, and will have accountability for margin and profitability of your category. You will primarily be responsible for the delivery of cost saving Initiatives, always keeping customers at the heart of what they do and you will have full responsibility for the Supplier and Procurement strategy, managing the supply base for products that are sourced from the UK, Europe and Asia. About the Person This would suit someone with a retail, wholesale or FMCG supplier Buying background who excels at sourcing, supply base management and negotiation. Ideally, you will have a proven track record of success in driving cost efficiencies and adding value through the identification of commercial opportunities. Preferably you will have experience in sourcing from both domestic and international suppliers.
