Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer – Sussex – Highly competitive, bonus, car allowance and other benefits My client is a leading global chemical and industrial gases company. Due to increased demand for their products and services along with incredible investment to support their growth they are looking for a proficient Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer to be based in Sussex. The successful person will join a high performing leadership team focused on medium to large size projects whereby you can showcase your strong technical expertise in the field of rotating equipment for process gases. You will lead other Engineers to deliver well-defined project scopes and play a significant part in the development of competitive proposals for new business opportunities. The role will require international travel to suppliers and project sites. Approximately 25% of your time may be spent travelling with some extended durations at project job sites to support construction, commissioning and start-up of rotating equipment. Key responsibilities: Leading the execution for the technical elements of critical rotating equipment on assigned projects through Basic Engineering & Design and Detailed Engineering & Design phases with responsibility for delivering committed work on-schedule and on-budget Support development of project strategy and schedule in pre-FEED and Process Design Package Liaise closely with proposal team and third party engineering companies to develop rotating equipment scope Represent the machinery engineering function in cross-functional project meetings including P&ID review, HAZOP, layout review and model review Be involved with inspections and testing of purchased critical rotating equipment and perform site inspections of installations Lead kick-off and design review meetings with suppliers Drive continuous improvement of internal engineering standards and processes Work closely with other engineering disciplines and coordinate cross-functional reviews of suppliers drawings to enable integration of purchased equipment into overall plant designs, ensuring compliance across full project scope Prepare technical specification packages for critical rotating equipment and undertake technical evaluation, development and technical risk assessment & mitigation of proposals for purchase and supplier proposals Deliver technical support throughout the project construction and commissioning phases retaining overall technical responsibility for equipment until successful handover Required experience: Chartered Engineer (CEng) or European Engineer (EurIng) status Minimum of degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Experience in the selection and application of critical rotating equipment for process gases applications during proposal development including process cycle integration Experience in the specification, evaluation, engineering and inspection of rotating equipment for process gases applications in an EPC project environment Experience in both Specifying Engineer and Owner’s Engineer roles would be an advantage Experience in planning and leading the execution of critical rotating equipment with schedule and budget responsibility. Experience in the application of international codes and standards (API, ASME, TEMA, IEC etc.) Experience in providing technical leadership, supervision and mentoring to other engineers A dedicated and driven approach with a strong grasp of technical principals Outstanding communication skills, ability to build strong working relationships, attention to detail and desire to continually learn, improve and contribute If you are eager to be part of a high performing, multi-disciplined team working for a global chemical leader that value their employees please send your CV without delay.
