Description Exciting opportunity for a Head of Corporate & Investment Banking Research to lead the relationship management and research teams of a global Global analytics & research firm focused on financial services clients. London This role has responsibility for (i) all aspects of CIB Research across the two public components: Competitor (revenue, headcount) and Country (pool, revenues), as well as (ii) coordination with the two private components: Client (wallet, share of wallet, rank) and Financial Resources (costs, RWA, exposure, RoE). The individual in the role will also have responsibility for directing Research activities in the development of new analytics within CIB (e.g., Lending) and for exploring opportunities outside Financial Services (e.g., Asset Management, Commodities) This role has the following four primary components across 1. Subject Matter Expertise Act the primary subject matter expert for the non-confidential/public component: Competitor, Client and Country Build extensive and unique deep expertise in the CIB sector: IBD, FICC, Equities, Transaction Banking, Securities Services, Lending Communicate on performance, trends, strategies, business structures of the industry and the leading 30 Corporate and Investment banks; Lead Research & Analytics teams in international offices (5 people) and provide direction to the offshore team (100 people) in partnership with head of the offshore analytics center. 2. Development of Research & Analytics Understand the evolving client needs and requirements proactively working with the Client Relationship and Development teams; 3. Client Relationship Develop relationship with the most senior audience within the CIB industry: Present to senior management across 20 Banks and 4 regions ( senior MDs, heads of CIB/ IB/Markets, heads of regions/products) through more than 250 senior meetings a year; 4. Contribution to Strategy and Management Contribute to overall strategy (e.g., budget & planning, new product/client segments/industry, partnership, resourcing) Contribute to people development Support Media outreach through interviews with all key FS journalists about CIB/product/regional market trends and competitive landscape (e.g., 10 interviews per month) Profile Exciting opportunity for a Head of Corporate & Investment Banking Research to lead the relationship management and research teams of a global Global analytics & research firm focused on financial services clients. London Candidates must have high intellect demonstrated by an excellent academic and career background: Academically the candidate is likely to be a graduate from a top University who has also gained a post-graduate qualification such as an MBA from a top Business school Relevant career experience of at least 15 years is likely: - Financial Service practice from a tier 1 strategic consulting firm - Partner level - Head-level of a Strategy/Research team from a major Global CIB - MD level The successful candidate will have to demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Exceptional expertise - Exceptional extensive, deep and wide knowledge of Corporate and & Investment Banking Industry (IBD, FICC, Equities, Transaction Banking, Securities Services, Lending) and the FS sector more broadly (buy-side firms, infrastructure players); Ability to create new and unique insights and analyses both with FS and outside FS (e.g Commodities); Excellent people and interpersonal skills Exemplary communication skills - Ability to converse confidently and articulately; Excellent presentation skills and the ability to present with impact to small groups or to large audiences (e.g., 5-50 people) with more than 250 meetings per year Excellent quantitative and analytical skills - Ability to work with significant amounts of data, both numerical and qualitative and drive conclusions over time, extracting insights and value-add analyses Strong project management Level of client meetings: Group CFO, Group Treasurer, Head of CIB/IB/GM, Head of Product, Head of Region, CIB/IB/GM CFO, Head of Strategy Job Offer The package will be competitive This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89957539
