VP of Development and Technical Operations iVendi develop online and showroom solutions that make vehicle selling easier for car dealers, vehicle buying easier for consumers and vehicle finance easier for all. Role Overview The leader of development and technical operations will define and lead the execution of a strategy to improve our release capacity whilst maintaining a high degree of service availability and scalability to meet the commercial and contractual needs of the business. The role is a leader within the business and will oversee the development and technical operations teams, and lease with key customers including major financial institutions. Its a demanding role that requires the occupant to be capable of building high performing cross-functional teams in a hands-on collaborative manner, whilst playing a key role in shaping the software/platform/application/security architectural strategy to meet the commercial needs of the business. Key Responsibilities: · Being part of the leadership team, you will to help to define and develop a culture that supports the development of world class products, and the continued commercial success of the business. · Lead the development and operational teams across the design, build, and operational management of highly secure and scalable developments. · Work tirelessly to guarantee the reduction or removal of bottlenecks and inefficiencies within engineering and operations departments. · Evangelise, Educate and Implement best practices, to develop and deploy software solutions whilst maximising team productivity. · Act as a mentor to manage and develop key personnel, constantly promoting improvement in both their technical and professional soft skills and readying them for continued future career progression. · Manage the key technical operational and personnel risks of the business that could undermine contractual commitments. · Employ a healthy outlook to the management of technical debt based around the commercial and contractual needs of the business. · Promote the business at key technical seminars and events through public speaking to establish iVendi as a centre of both technical excellence and high achievement. Key Skills The candidate must have exceptional leadership skills and be a people person with an ability to develop strong, meaningful, and lasting relationships with others across the business. They will be a likable, approachable, and relatable person who inspires trust in others and is able to coach and develop technical personnel. The candidate must demonstrate vast experience of writing code and have experience in the automation, configuration, and application performance management. The candidate must additionally demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and possess an ability to identify and resolve high-level scalability and performance issues. The candidate must be capable of handling multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines, be highly analytical by nature, be highly organized being able to effectively prioritise tasks, have exceptionally good problem solving skills, have an ability to work in a highly collaborative and fast-evolving environment, be highly adaptive and welcoming to change.
