Job Description

The health and safety service sits within the Corporate Real Estate Solutions (CRES) governance and health & safety pillar of CRES. It designs and delivers the Group H&S Policy and provides advice and support on the design of Standards and Procedures that control harm to people risk throughout Barclays in accordance with Barclays Enterprise Risk Management Framework. With a mandate to design, implement, administer, and manage Barclays Fire Safety programs, this senior role in Barclays will excel in the development and delivery of resilient solutions that are fit for today and tomorrow. The Global Fire Safety & Incidents Manager is an entirely new role within Barclays; it truly is an exciting time to join the H&S team as Barclays shifts up a gear. The role holder's primary purpose is to ensure that Barclays H&S Programs are operating properly, efficiently, and in accordance with the Bank's risk controls. What will you be doing? Design Barclays Global Fire Safety and basic Fire Engineering standards Lead and support major incident activity where Fire is a factor Manage and monitor Barclays fire risk assessment activity, which is delivered through a third part contractor globally Liaise with Barclays resilience and security teams on fire related matters, Carry out visits to Barclays premises where required Conduct fire risk assessments review and benchmarking Deliver fire safety training Coach for positive fire safety behaviours Lead the day to day execution of fire safety programs in the assigned Area Provide competent advice in relation to fire safety Liaise with the UK H&S Program Manager in relation to fire safety programs Support the UK (VP) Regional H&S Manager Ensure that a partner relationship exists between functions and the CRES H&S support team, Ensure that functional standards and procedures are deployed to minimise harm to people risk Provide fire safety performance data, Represent the CRES H&S service across the business, What we're looking for: Able to communicate at a senior level in a large corporate organisation, Level 6 fire safety qualification, such as NEBOSH Diploma Grad.I.FireE, (minimum) Working knowledge of BS9999, and PAS79 Skilled at presenting fire safety performance data for a corporate audience Confident at presenting information in person and via video/audio conferencing Skills that will help you in the role: Level 7 fire safety related qualification such as an MSc or equivalent Skilled facilitator, Where will you be working?
