Job Title: Senior Payroll and Finance Officer Location: Stainborough, Barnsley Salary: £24,313 - £26,317 per annum Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (36 hours per week) Closing Date: Monday, 9th March 2020 The College is an outstanding adult residential college set in beautiful parklands just south of Barnsley. The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the college's Finance team. In this new role you will be responsible for processing the college's monthly payroll, ensuring statutory obligations are met, and payroll is completed to deadline. The role will be responsible for the preparation of the college's monthly payroll and production of quality financial information which underpin the successful delivery of the college's financial service. Key Responsibilities: Payroll To process the college's monthly payroll through Cintra To undertake a monthly reconciliation between college systems and payroll software To ensure the college meets its pension auto-enrolment obligations and enrols employees to relevant pension schemes in liaison with HR To ensure the timely payment of payroll and the prompt completion of payroll processes To undertake the reconciliation, distribution and payment of all associated payroll deductions to the relevant authorities, including SYPA and USS pension reconciliations and submissions To undertake duties associated with the production of the monthly payroll including the production and distribution of monthly payslips and issuing of P45's To assist and provide absence cover for the Head of Finance in monthly and year end reconciliations of all the college's payroll, including preparation of accruals journals for sessional staff To assist and provide absence cover for the Head of Finance in the administration of annual payroll updates and legislative changes, including pay increases/increments and pay scales To provide a timely response to any payroll related enquiries Debtors Raising and inputting of debtor invoices onto the Financial Management System Production of monthly aged debtors reports for the college Follow-up and recovery of all outstanding debts including liaison with students and other University partners Income and Banking Receipt and recording of all cash, cheque, and direct bank transfer and credit card receipts onto the Financial Management System from all income generating facilities To bank all cash and cheques and to carry out reconciliation of these transactions To collect income information and categorise accordingly on the college's cash flow spreadsheet To receive student course payments at the counter service Key Requirements: Experience of co-ordinating credit control High levels of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to undertake analysis and interpret a range of financial data Ability to prioritise work effectively ensuring deadlines are met Ability to work on own initiative A proficient user of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel Part-qualified CCAB (AAT minimum) or equivalent payroll qualification (i.e. CIPP) Willingness to undertake necessary training Enthusiastic, flexible and able to work as part of a team Benefits: The Work Environment Pension Schemes Holiday Entitlement Training and Development Children's Centre Free parking Cycle to work scheme Please click on the APPLY button and you will be REDIRECTED to the College's careers page Candidates with experience or relevant job titles of; Payroll Officer, Payroll Administrator, Accounts Clerk, Payroll, Finance Clerk, Finance Administrator, Financial Administrator, Payroll Executive, Payroll Assistant, Payroll Admin, Payroll Coordinator may also be considered for this role.
