Overview
Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager to work within a Single Point of Access Team ( Front Door Team) for Croydon Council. Job Purpose The SPOC team is Croydon's 'front door', receiving all new referrals for children where there are safeguarding concerns or where the child may need additional support, including Early Help services. Working alongside both co-located and virtual multi-agency partners, whilst also seeking to work in partnership with parents and carers, the team makes important decisions on the level of support and intervention that children need to meet their needs and keep them safe. Our goal is to make the right decisions, at the right time and so help set a positive journey for all children referred into the SPOC. The SPOC team is a fast paced team where important decisions are being made each day on children's needs and safety. About you To help achieve this, we want to recruit permanent ATM's who are experienced and passionate about working towards achieving positive change for children and families. We are therefore looking for candidates who have ability to: Work individually and manage a team of social workers towards making safe and robust decisions under pressure and strict deadlines Be confident and consistent in their decision making, and ability to apply national and local legislation and thresholds Be flexible and deal with changing needs or requests at short notice Write clear and child focused management oversight and direction Work within a relationship and strength-based practice framework Work positively, constructively but with clear focus and direction with a team of social workers, multi-agency partners and other internal teams to identify need, risk and strengths and make appropriate decisions and plans for the child(ren). Work with partner agencies and internal teams to deliver training or provide input on the SPOC service Work autonomously in a professionally responsible and accountable manner but also able to work collaboratively as part of a wider management team Lead, direct and motivate a team of social workers Deliver high quality supervision and support social workers to continually develop their skills and practice Help contribute to team and service development Be enthusiastic and committed to individual social work and managerial practice development Respond constructively and effectively to challenges of decision making or complaints from parents, carers, multi-agency partners or internal teams Please apply directly to the advert if you are interested.
