Job Title: Legal and Wordings Specialist Location: London Package: GBP70,000 - GBP80,000 Industry: Insurance Job Type: Permanent _________________________________________________________________________________ The Legal & Wordings Specialist is responsible for effectively partnering with all levels of the organization to provide compliant, business sensitive wordings and legal solutions in a variety of areas, including regulatory issues, compliance requirements, contracts and policy wordings. This legal professional will have a unique opportunity for significant business impact by enabling business solutions through both compliance and innovation. Responsibilities: - Act as the policy wording expert in terms of drafting and validation in terms of regulatory requirements and FCA principles, including for innovative and non-traditional products. - Work closely with product, UW, pricing and claims teams to ensure input into policy wording is in line with the business requirements and the context of partner relationships, where they often require innovative approach to wordings creation. - Have in-depth knowledge of insurance terminology, lead internal discussions on issues particular to legal and regulatory requirements. - Assess needs and provide solutions to facilitate agent, third party administrator and carrier contractual agreements. - Attain necessary level of knowledge through research and available resources to resolve the issues that arise. - Interact with management (typically mid-level and above) to determine business needs and provide counsel. - Review scenarios and provide advice to resolve questions about regulatory issues including but not limited to roles and responsibilities of parties and end-to-end customer journeys. - Assist in corporate legal entity licensing including liaison with insurance carriers to ensure licence adherence in multiple territories. - Proactively identify legal issues requiring counsel for the business and communicate effectively with managers and associates to enable business in a compliant manner. - Support an environment that balances innovation and compliance to result in a can-do culture. - Identify issues and provide solutions in a timely manner taking into account the different dynamics and business needs of the company, the Carrier and partner. - Strong prioritisation across different projects and responsibilities. - Keen to develop and educate the team in regards to compliance and regulatory developments.
