VP OF ENGINEERING £750- £850 per day CENTRAL LONDON 3 - 6 MONTHS As a VP of Engineering you will have the opportunity to lead a team of Data/DevOps Engineers, QAs in building a greenfield AWS streaming platform. THE COMPANY: As VP of Engineering you will be working for a leading company within the travel and leisure space. You will be situated above a team of Data/ DevOps Engineers and QAs in leading a greenfield build. This is a chance as a VP of Engineering to lead a team of highly skilled engineers in an agile and fast paced environment in building a scalable platform . THE ROLE: As a VP of Engineering you must be highly skilled in building Data Platform. You must have extensive knowledge of AWS as the VP of Engineering as you will be helping to design the high level solution for the build. As the VP of Engineering you must also have excellent knowledge of streaming technologies such as Kafka and Spark. As a VP of Engineering you must also have good working knowledge of both Python/Scala as though you will have skilled Data Engineers under you, you may to work on POCs in order to test viable solutions. In specific you can expect to be involved in the following: Guiding a data team in building a highly scalable platform Excellent knowledge of AWS Expertise in streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark Leading a team and guiding them in best practices Good working knowledge of Python/Scala THE SUCCESSFUL VP OF ENGINEERING WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Previously mentored teams Implemented best practices like TDD and pair programming Worked extensively with AWS Services THE BENEFITS: This role offers a very competitive rate of up to £850 per day.
