Overview
Our client is a PE backed business services Group with ambitious growth plans and a clearly defined value creation agenda. They are now looking to recruit a best-in class Group Reporting Manager to partner the Group Financial Controller and to ensure effective delivery against the agreed business plan. It is likely that the business will IPO and it is therefore essential that the necessary systems, controls and governance are in place. The Group Reporting Manager will play an instrumental role in ensuring rigorous controls are in place within the finance department and will understand the best-practice requirements of operating within a listed business. This key appointment requires regular interaction and exposure to the Directors and senior finance team members. You will gain exposure to the Private Equity and have a desire to gain an in depth understanding of the commercial activities of the group, working cross functionally. Main responsibilities and tasks include: Management of the Consolidation system ensuring that results are reported accurately Review of the consolidation and month end reporting Identifying best practice and processes and driving continuous improvement Supporting three Reporting Accountants. Assisting with accounting for future acquisitions and integrations Assistance is quarterly investor reporting Assisting with the budget and forecasting process Preparation of statutory accounts Provision of accurate financial information relating to the Group and its subsidiaries on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, both internally to the Group Executive Team and Board and externally to key stakeholders. Ensure compliance across the Group with external financial reporting requirements, including IFRS, UK Companies Act and compliance with requirements of external financing. Ensuring a robust and consistent Group wide internal control regime exists and is adhered to. Requirement of the role Main requirements of the role include: You will be a Qualified accountant, ideally having worked in Practice or a Group function in a plc or private equity environment Consolidation and Reporting experience is essential Previous 'blue chip’ experience in the Head Office of an international business with significant foreign currency exposures. Excellent IFRS technical skills and knowledge of recent updates Experience of preparation of large company financial statements Experience of working in a multi-currency environment Ability to engage with business colleagues, at all levels, in a proactive manner to develop effective solutions to issues. Critical and analytical thinking in all aspects of work. Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
