Overview

Role Profile Our client has is an established distributor and wholesaler based in the UK. They have grown considerably over the last few years and are looking at an enthusiastic, passionate and driven Buyer to join their team. You will be responsible for all aspects of the buying process, whilst promoting products from your designated portfolio working alongside the marketing team. The right individual will need to be a strong negotiator, analytical and all-round team player to join this budding and supportive work environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced buyer to develop their sourcing, pricing and rapport building skills. If you have ubiquiti experience or are willing to train then that is very desirable Key Responsibilities • Negotiating with vendors to: Achieve best pricing delivering favourable terms. • Product promotion: Liaise with vendors to arrange promotions, spiff days, customer prizes and other incentives, as well as internally with the Sales and Marketing to ensure your products are promoted effectively. • Responsible for accurate and effective representation of your products on our website, pricelists, promotions and all other relevant areas. As the market and customer shopping behaviour evolves, website range management is a growing part of the buyer role at the company. • Responsible for all aspects of performance for your product areas by producing weekly updates and insight on your product areas for internal reporting, planning and for the Sales/ Marketing departments. • Sourcing products: Identify, locate and evaluate suppliers for new product opportunities. • Responsibility for all aspects of stock management for your product areas. • Review pricing of all products on a regular basis, in line with category objectives and market pricing. • Responsible for all aspects of the relationships with vendors in your product areas: Liase with vendors regularly to develop strategies for product promotion in conjunction with the Marketing team. • Other requirements will also apply. S kills & Experience • Enthusiastic and confident. • Articulate, numerate and grammatically correct in all communications. • Computer literate with good skills in Microsoft applications. • A strong negotiator at all levels - and be able to demonstrate this effectively • A good team player. • Strong analytical skills and organisational skills. • The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally. • Technical/IT hardware knowledge desirable but not essential. • Relevant IT channel experience preferred but not essential • Experience of dealing with suppliers world-wide preferred but not essential • Experience of sourcing products from Far East preferred but not essential • Experience of working in a demanding and fast paced environment Remuneration £25-30k depending on experience annual profit shares Minimum of 3-5 years Supply Chain / Buying experience Work from home opportunity
