What you'll be doing To manage the delivery of one or more large / complex IT projects or workstreams within Bupa's UKIT Data Management (DM) and Business Information (BI) portfolio and to achieve the agreed financial and business outcomes within the stated parameters whilst working in a regulated environment. The job holder will define, and drive assigned projects, managing and controlling specialist teams to undertake day-to-day delivery in line with DM and BI strategy and governance. What's a typical day? Full delivery of multiple projects from initiation to implementation - in an autonomous manner and to the rules defined by IT Governance Office and Bupa's IT standards and policies. To drive the successful delivery of multiple, simultaneous large or complex data projects and initiatives for Bupa. To establish and manage effective and trusted relationships with key business and IT project stakeholders. Lead the project team(s) in translating business requirements into operational plans. Create and manage optimised project plans, resource requirements, budgets, critical success factors and key milestones for all projects. Ensure robust and measurable business cases exist for each project, with clearly identified and traceable commercial outcomes always. Control and monitor the project finances to ensure efficient delivery, adhering to the business case and working closely with Bupa's IT Finance Teams. Identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies and manage change holistically. Maintain a resource demand forecast and optimise throughout the project delivery cycle. Overall responsibility for leading and managing the project team including supervisory and matrix management of team members. Use judgement to determine when it is necessary to escalate To execute appropriate project governance and reporting frameworks in partnership with the PMO. Effectively engage and manage external vendors and work closely with Bupa's procurement team. Effective working relationships with colleagues across Bupa and with 3rd parties to gain commitment, support and resource to deliver successful projects. Who we're looking for? Must be well organised, work to deadlines and be analytical and articulate. Must demonstrate the ability to think ahead and be proactive in understanding when to push issues hard to achieve a desired outcome. Demonstrable team leadership skills to ensure rapport and trust within the project delivery team Qualifications, Training and Experience Experience in managing technical resource teams working on data warehouse, data marts and enterprise data warehouse Experience in reporting teams, understanding tools like BOXI, Bolden James, Varonis, Cognos, SSRS, Power BI or Tableau Understanding data management framework (both structured and unstructured) Knowledge on data management concepts like data governance, data quality, data lineage, data stewardship, master data and reference data management Ability to liaise between development, testing, business analysts, and operations support and business lead teams Understanding of data journeys from loading, staging through to centralised data warehouse and ultimately to output platform. Knowledge of current data compliance considerations - Data Protection Act (GDPR), Role of ICO, etc Knowledge of interrelationship between CISO, information governance / privacy and operational teams Excellent knowledge of common infrastructure components, technologies and platforms To have strong knowledge and expertise in business and IT project and programme management delivering large or complex change. To have excellent interpersonal skills, empathy and at times fortitude and resilience. Highly results oriented and focussed on adding value to Bupa. To have extensive experience of multiple IT project delivery methodologies (e.g. Agile, PRINCE2). To have extensive knowledge of IT operational readiness, including process mapping and ITIL.
