Due to the award of new programmes and continued expansion a leading manufacturer to the aerospace & defence sectors has a new vacancy for a Senior Design Engineer. Working for this global supplier you will be involved on design from initial conception through to delivery and must have experience working on complex products in precision engineering. Commutable from: Widness, Chester, Liverpool, Runcorn, Manchester, Middlewich, St Helens, Warrington, Salford, Stockport. Salary: £35,000 - £48,000 benefits Suitable: Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Principle Engineer, Lead Engineer. The Role Working on a number of high-profile aerospace & defence projects you will be closely involved in conceptual and detail design of complex systems. Working with the engineering team and customers y ou will understand the principles of functional analysis and requirements in engineering. Key responsibilities: Conceptional and detailed design of complex mechanical systems Design development which will include material selection, defining specification & CAD Support design reviews ensuring verification and validation Undertake problem solving of design and product issues to resolve functional issues as they arise Develop specifications and test programmes Act as a project lead engineer when require The Person: Ideally degree qualified in mechanical engineering you will have previous experience working in complex manufacturing (aerospace, defence, automotive, energy, etc), have strong project management skills and be well practised in modern manufacturing/assembly techniques. With experience working on innovate projects you will have knowledge of Catia V5 and be able to work with a relatively low level of supervision.
