Supply Chain Quality Manager SF28890 Location: Devonport, Plymouth Here at Babcock International we are excited to offer a new opportunity to join our naval supply chain chain mananageemnt team for a permanent job opportunity based at Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth. Overall Department Direction: The Naval Nuclear Supply Chain work closely with internal supply chain and other teams, as well as the customers' supply chain teams, to develop appropriate supply chain strategies to deliver submarine programmes now and in the future. With current Warships and Submarines nearing their end of service, and new platforms being introduced, appropriate supply chain strategies and arrangements that will support future operational outputs need to be developed. Those future operational outputs include delivering fleet time support, major repair and overhaul, and deep maintenance programmes in both Devonport and Clyde, with the supply chain team providing Materials, Services and Subcontract support. Working closely with relevant Heads of Supply Chain in Devonport and Clyde, lessons from the delivery of current operational outputs and future business objectives will inform the development of future supply chain strategies. Working with a cross functional team, the successful candidate will ensure appropriate strategies are in place for supply chain delivery into the future programmes, with a particular focus on Services and Materials. The primary places of work is Devonport, however travel to alternative sites and key suppliers will be required at times. Main Purpose of Role: Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain (Planning and Performance), and working collaboratively with the internal stakeholders and external customers, this role is in support of the NN supply chain services across the Babcock sites. - Policy formulation and deployment - Developing the SC Quality capability - Supporting Supplier Surveillance and approvals - Development and maintenance of quality requirements - Supplier development, and support (where required) - Discrepancy Oversight - Risk Management process - SC Quality Performance Management - Development and execution of all SC training for the functional area / teams - Ownership and resolution of all Qpulse, OEF and NCR register - Ownership of all SC site licensed requirements, and audit accreditation - Development and execution of a Supplier continuity program - Management of quality alerts - Ownership and management of all SHEF and TOFS reviews - Oversight on the system approval and training process Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences The post would suit a candidate who is seeking a career complex Supply Chain environment with: Knowledge/Experience: - Defence Sector Repair and Overhaul knowledge - Exposure to relevant regulatory bodies - Sound Commercial Understanding of 'Best Practice' - Experienced quality practitioner who has established and developed a quality management function - Managing quality assurance and quality control within an engineering sector - Managing quality assurance and quality control within the supply chain - Demonstrable experience in working with / alongside the MoD - Experience of working in complex project environments. - Proven track record of delivering excellent supply chain performance. - High quality communication ability, both written and orally. - Tag 77 - LC/AC - 8D - Customer (Internal and External) facing role exposure within highly pressurised environments Skills: - Demonstrable experience in delivering transformation programs - Excels with 'End to End' Supply Chain methodologies Competences: - Able to lead cross functional teams through challenging environments - Highly delivery focused with pragmatic hands on approach - Understanding of LEAN principles of operation and demonstrable experience of delivering efficiency improvements - Excels at risk mitigation activities to secure operational performance Qualifications Academic: - Recognised professional qualification in Quality Management - ISO 9001: 2015 Lead Audit (UKAS Certified) - Completion of the Internal Submarine Quality Assurance Course - Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher desirable Experience: - Proven transformational delivery - Experience in a Quality and/or Supply Chain role within a large organiastion.
