Transport Manager (PM shift) Hours of Work: 13.30-22.00 (including Saturdays) Salary: up to £30,000 benefits including bonus 25 days’ holiday 8 days’ Bank Holiday pay, company pension, health care, discounted produce, Christmas food box etc. Based in Bishop Sutton, BS39. Role: You will be working as a Transport Manager (PM Shift) in the Logistics department of Arthur David Ltd, a highly successful and expanding business that supplies fresh produce and fine foods to the catering industry across the south west. The successful Transport Manager will be responsible for managing the afternoon transport operation, working to ensure the fleet of drivers deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction and analyzing data to ensure the highest standards of driver competency. Reporting to the Logistics Manager the Transport Manager opportunity would suit an existing Transport Manager or a Transport Team Leader or Transport Planner looking for a step into Management. The role is based in the beautiful Chew Valley, Bristol BS39, 12 miles from Bath and Bristol. Transport Manager Duties: · Support the Logistics Manager in completing Drivers 1-2-1s and appraisals · Deal with all O licence administration, check and verify is up to date and fully compliant · Monitor MPG usage and same day delivery operations, managing corrective action and ensuring customer expectations are fully met · Investigate error log complaints and Driver infringements, and complete vehicle checks and monitor DOR ‘Days Off Road’ · Act as first sign off for preventative maintenance inspections (PMI) wall planner, ensuring all HGV PMI dates are met, booking in and arranging vehicle release · Review CCTV footage of yard activity when necessary · Act as first point of contact for enquiries relating to Drivers from Warehouse and Customer Service departments · Complete all tasks in line with Company Core Values – Quality, Customer Service, Teamwork, Excellence, Respect Transport Manager (Transport) Skills and Experience required: · Experience of working within a Transport department, preferably as a Transport Manager, Transport Team Leader or Transport Planner · Route planning experience highly preferable · Experience of dealing with HGV / O Licence paperwork. · Proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated · Leadership experience highly preferable · A strong team player with excellent communication skills · Able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines · A good level of education and a good standard of IT skills, incorporating MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) · Physically fit (able to lift 25kg) Nicola Jenkin is recruiting the Transport Manager directly on behalf of Arthur David Ltd so NO AGENCIES PLEASE.
