Overview

We are currently working on behalf of a client based in West London, UK. Our client specialises in commercial vehicle repair and refurbishment. They offer a wide range of services such as commercial vehicle and private hire repair, commercial vehicle design and build, signwriting and graphics and many more. Our client is looking for a Workshop Manager. Skills Required: Minimum 10 years experience or previous work in a similar role within the Bodyshop / Automotive industry People Management within a similar role - Minimum 5 years Driving Licence and HGV licence (desirable) Health and Safety and Fire legislation and practices including the use of PPE Relevant qualification in Management Must be reliable and hard working Fast learner and eager to develop skills Attention to detail Strong team player First Aid trained (desirable) Responsibilities: Attend daily meetings with office management to plan and prioritise work and discuss targets and issues that arise Manage all departments within the workshop (Panel, Fabrication and Paint departments) to ensure maximum productivity is achieved and daily targets are met / exceeded. Be able to observe the workshop and produce reports for management on your conclusions. Be the first point of contact for all staff in the workshop. Be able to promote and encourage teamwork. Motivate staff to achieve maximum productivity Assist in recruitment, training, appraisals and staff inductions. Control cost efficiency through working methods, material usage and reducing waste. Liaise with stores to check parts availability. Monitor and address any quality issues as they arise and conduct final quality control on all work before it leaves the workshop. Ensure all Workshop operatives are clocked onto every job and monitor performance. Enforce company policies throughout the workshop.
