Overview
The Role: Civils Supervisor (NRSWA) Location: Yorkshire This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Civils supervisor to join a company on the client side, which is building an FTTP network in the Yorkshire area. This is a great chance to work permanently on the client side, so if you have a NRSWA supervisor card, experienced of working on roads and highways carrying out excavation and reinstatement's work in regards to telecoms or utilities we would be very keen to speak with you. The role, In this position you will supervise the excavation and reinstatement of a number of sites located in the Yorkshire region on a multi-million pound build contract by way of fibre in the ground. Reporting to a local project manager, you'll have responsibility for each site including all site activities, production of workforce and overall costs of the day to day undertakings. The main aim of this role is to prevent obstruction, time delays and keep the project on budget. This a field based role where you will act as the eyes in the field to give real time feedback to the management team to ensure that completion success rate on sites being excavated and re-laid are in line with KPI's and ensure the lowest amount of inconvenience for customers. You will be responsible for ensuring all of the quality and H&S safety standards on site are adhered to at all times and a key aspect is the liaison with the local authorities to ensure road closures are permitted and that all of the works undertaken hit the required time scales. Key points: Conduct site safety checks to ensure all subcontractor signing and guarding and traffic management in general is appropriate and as per NRSWA spec Instruct contractor crews on appropriate signing and guarding as necessary Complete joint site inspection to assess visual quality of Civils work Conduct compaction tests as per specification to gauge the absolute level of compaction Coach crews on appropriate Civils methods to ensure that build quality is maintained Ensure all Civils work is as per all relevant HAUC standards Oversee core test regime and document findings with recommendations as required Liaise with local communities to ensure build programme progresses smoothly and with minimum disruption Conduct site surveys to assist initial design process Ensure Construction phase plans and Health and Safety files in place and being adhered to Who are you? Civils supervisor or inspector on roads and highways - ideally within telecoms but we can consider utilities in the ground. It is essential that you hold a current NRSWA supervisor ticket and a full driving license with 6 points or less.
