Overview

My client, a global Financial Services organisation based in London, are looking for an IT Network Engineering Manager to join their growing team. About the IT Network Engineering Manager Role: The Network Manager will provide technical management function including but not limited to design, implementation, documentation and support. In some cases operational support, including out of hours and escalation on-call, might be required. Moreover, the Network Manager will be responsible for developing, managing and maintaining the client's core IT infrastructure standards encompassing all components within the client's network infrastructure including services such as LAN, WAN, routers, switches and firewalls and key management systems therein. Responsiblities: Oversight and management of technical resources involved with the design, implementation, documentation and support of Network Infrastructure (routers, firewalls, load balancers, monitoring tools, LAN, WAN, WiFi, hosting low latency infrastructure) Proactively manage and help resolve operational incidents. Creation, maintenance and communication of engineering standards Contribution to the technology product roadmaps Participation in projects. Ensure that project tasks are completed within the agreed timelines and following LME process and procedures. Resource Management Contribution and compliance to Engineering and Security standards. Contribution and review of high-level designs Ensure compliance to the client's processes and procedures People management, career development, appraisals and objective setting Provide consultancy to project or operational teams to ensure appropriate selection of technology Work with technical architects, project managers and other stakeholders to identify, assess, select and present appropriate network solutions. Develop the automation and scripting functions Vendor Management Budgeting Ensure knowledge transfer between Engineering and Operations Maintenance of Engineering delivered documentation, roadmaps and similar artefacts to ensure currency Contribute to the delivery of efficient solutions to meet business continuity and disaster recovery requirements Operational change management process Provide IT Management escalation out of hours on-call support Own the deliverables of audit related remediation activities Peer review network designs and changes Some overtime and weekend work might be required Own the Network Lifecycle management program Mentor other members of the team Program Management Required Knowledge and Level of Experience: Good knowledge Firewall technologies (Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Palo Alto,…) with a minimum of 5 years' experience. Good knowledge of Routing and Switching (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, multicast) Good knowledge of Cisco Data Center switches (Nexus 9000, 7000, 5000, 3000 and 2000 FEXs) Good knowledge of data packet capture analysis (wireshark, Riverbed, Corvil, …) Good knowledge of Load Balancers ( A10 LTM, F5 GTM) Good knowledge of Arista Data Center switches Good knowledge of Cisco Wireless solutions Good knowledge of Network Virtualization (VRFs, contexts, VDCs, etc.) Good knowledge of Network Security Strong understanding of network enterprise monitoring solutions and associated operational support processes, ideally solarwinds, Corvil and Riverbed Strong understanding or Linux Strong understanding of Software Defined Networks Understanding of Cloud networking (AWS, Azure,…) Understanding and some experience with some of the following automation / orchestration / devops technologies : regular expressions, Python scripting, Ansible, netconf, json, YAML, git, docker, kubernites, Splunk, elastic search, containers, microservices If the above is of interest please call me on 0207 509 8040 to find out more or apply to this job ad at your earliest convienence.
