Overview

Excellent opportunity for a Data Governance Lead to join our clients Data Analytics and Insights team as a result of continued business growth. You will join a team who are a centre of excellence, with enterprise-wide responsibility for the design, build, deployment and management of all data, analytical and insight activities. The Data Governance Lead will design, deliver and manage enterprise wide data and information governance and data quality; embedding it in the day-to-day work of operational areas through a data ownership and stewardship model, while designing and negotiating any data sharing relationships and governance processes, and coordinating implementation across operational units. Responsibilities: Oversee the authoring, maintenance and enforcement of data governance for the scope of enterprise data assets, providing leadership and direction across the portfolio of change initiatives/programmes and BAU activities Analyse business requirements to determine data governance metrics, SLAs and reporting / dashboards, provide assistance to the business domains in embedding and enforcing data governance, and work with the business to analyse existing controls and identify opportunity for improvement Establish and govern a waiver process for managing exceptions to data policy including analysis to qualify issues, assign mitigating actions and control risk to the business Oversee the execution of data governance reports / dashboards for visualising data governance performance and work with IT to collaboratively deliver tooling enhancements for data quality management, including integration with risk and control framework Accountable for all aspects of people management of the Data Quality Analyst, for their programme of work and the associated budget. Essential criteria: Degree educated or above, with significant proven experience in data governance practice, data risk and control frameworks Ability to prioritise and execute against critical deliverables, coupled with a sense of personal ownership for delivery Knowledge of data governance, workflow and data management tooling Exposure to data governance frameworks and regulatory alignment experience of the Financial Services sector (or equivalent) Managing third-party supplier relationships, in particular data brokers and data providers Proven experience in managing a team of Data Quality Analysts Desirable criteria: Ability to build and maintain strong, cohesive working relationships with senior stakeholders Appreciation of broader data management capabilities and strategic alignment with business goals Please send your CV asap to apply.
