Overview
Are you an experienced IT Operations Engineer? Do you have experience working with Linux? If so then you may be the IT operations engineer, we are looking for. I am currently looking for an IT operations engineer to join my client on a permanent basis in the centre of Bath minutes away from the train station. What you will be doing? As an IT operations engineer you will be working in a shift team who are responsible for the 24x7 monitoring, maintenance, support and deployment of the unique virtualized store infrastructure software. You will answer incoming calls and respond to emails whilst delivering IT support. The shift pattern will consist of: 4 days on (7am-7pm) 4 days off 4 nights on (7pm-7am) 4 days off (repeat cycle) this means you will only be working 196 days per year as opposed to the normal 235 days a year. For this role you would either need commercial experience using Linux or be a home user of Linux with a passion to learn more. This is a great opportunity to upskill yourself in Linux and they will consider people who are using Linux at home and who can show enthusiasm and a passion to learn more (you would need to be able to show that you have been studying/using Linux at home) Key skills: At least 2 years experience working in an IT operational support role Commercial or home use of Linux with a passion to learn more Ability to work shifts Who will you be working for?
