SUPPORT WORKER [YOUNG PEOPLE] DOVER £20,000 PER ANNUM 40 HOURS PER WEEK PERMANENT Ivy Recruitment is currently seeking Support Workers to work with Young People aged between 16 and 24 in Dover. The role: As a Support Worker you will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customer of the service. You will work with the customer to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging them to maximise their life skills and choices. You will be required to work a shift pattern of 8 am - 4.30 pm, 9 am – 5.30 pm or 12 pm - 9 pm. There is weekend working and it is currently 1 in 4 weekends. Personal Attributes: Enjoys social interaction and the company of others, joins in local activities to encourage customer involvement Approachable and open behaviour Prefers working as part of a group or team Is fundamentally calm and resilient, does not let emotion adversely affect them or obscure their judgement Has a practical and logical mind and is naturally well organised Flexible Open to feedback and self-development Thrives on change and enjoys dynamic diverse environments Is confident with high levels of self-esteem Is respectful, articulate and sensitive in style of communication Is essentially customer–focused Is motivated towards excellence and improvement of personal performance with a can do attitude Ability to cope positively with challenging and diverse behaviours Skills & Experience: NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent experience in the social care/charity sector Experience of working with young people essential Ideally a car driver although this is not essential Benefits: 25 days Annual Leave, Pension Schemes, Staff Discounts, Healthcare and more.
