Overview
Our client is looking for an Assistant M&E Quantity Surveyor to provide an efficient and effective quantity surveying service to the business, supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor. They need the successful candidate to have the ability to provide quantity surveying services to the business, to support schemes with particular regard to managing and planning all costs associated with all types of construction projects, from outset until completion About the Role: To produce Cost Budgets and Cost Plans adapted to suit client requirements, produce preliminaries and contract documents to enable projects to be tendered To work with other design team members to help inform the design from a cost perspective; prepare an updated monthly project cash flow To assess tenders and make recommendations to client by providing a tender analysis Authorise payments to contractors accordingly Ensure expenditure is controlled and that schemes are completed within budget and on time To agree final accounts with Contractors and Clients To assist in the appointment and supervision of specialist contractors when necessary To ensure professional competence through continual professional development To endeavor to promote the business to obtain new projects and new clients About the Candidate: Full and detailed knowledge/understanding of both traditional and modern construction techniques and materials Familiarity with computerised administrative, reference and Building Control management systems Degree in Building Surveying/Quantity Surveying (Preferred, not essential) Basic knowledge of health and safety requirements in the work place Solid IT skills, including competence with word processing, spreadsheets, database and email and ability to learn how to use new IT applications Ability to chair and minute meetings Full driving license Points of Appeal: Variation of Projects Continuous Training and Development Growing Company If you would like further details regarding this position or alternatively like to submit your application, please contact David
