Overview

Are you a Senior Engineer looking to step into a position that's going to give you the opportunity to lead your own team? We are looking to add a Lead Software Engineer to our team here in London where you'll be working with React and Node on our market-leading SaaS platform, which provides an unparalleled service to brands such as Coach, Vans, J.Crew, L'Oreal and so many more. Our platform gives Head Office teams better visibility and control over our their stores are run, and is responsible for an average 3-5% sales increase - an incredible feat in a declining high street. Not only will you be a key decision maker in architecture and design of our systems, you'll be working on new features and greenfield projects, building API's and adding new functionality to the platform using Node, MongoDB and JavaScript ES6. This includes utilising asynchronous programming and other modern tech to ensure your work is scalable and future-proof. We work to a microservice-based architecture, so a solid understanding of the benefits and disadvantages of both microservices vs monolithic architecture is key here, it's important to us that you understand the reasoning behind our approach to software. In order to succeed in this Lead Software Engineer position there's a few things we would need to see from you: Solid experience developing enterprise software in any modern language - e.g. Java, C#, Node, PHP, Python, Ruby Knowledge beyond coding - You'll be open to discussing design patterns, architecture and system design with us and your colleagues. Deep understanding of the Microservice architecture, what components are involved in building a microservice and what components are optional. Experience testing your own code, this includes the full range of testing, from unit to integration to API testing.
