Overview
We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company. Reporting to the Genre MD and working closely with Creative Director of Development and the wider team, the selected candidate will be expected to generate opportunities and convert IP in this increasingly valuable market. The selected candidate will be driving and expanding a growing slate and providing a fresh approach to producing content focused on the SVOD and Digital space. Working closely with the Executive Producers, Series Producers and Heads of Department, you will continue to build upon and expand the company in-house production slate as well as build further opportunities to collaborate in the company output. You will need to develop ideas that translate to the right platform and therefore reach and satisfy the target audience. The selected candidate will be able to demonstrate strong commissioner relationships and delivery across SVOD and Digital platforms and be knowledgeable about what these potential clients are looking for. The company are looking for a candidate who has extensive TV broadcast editorial experience at Creative Director or Senior Executive Producer level, specifically within the Factual Entertainment realm so please do not apply if you do not have this or have never worked across Factual Entertainment programming at this senior level. You will bring extensive experience in managing production and editorial teams along with a strong background in delivering exceptional content in the genre and also have significant experience working across SVOD / Digital markets with a keen eye on or experience of working with US Broadcasters and platforms. This role is accountable for winning business and the editorial quality of the output. In partnership with colleagues the Creative Director will be expected to manage the financial and operational challenges that go along with working in this developing and lucrative area. You will bring extensive experience of senior leadership and managing complex teams at all levels and have a strong background in delivering exceptional content in the Factual Entertainment genre. Exceptional communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively with peers, channel controllers, commissioners and key talent you; will provide a strong lead and a supportive environment in which to work. Demonstrating sound editorial judgement about ideas based on an understanding of target audience, channels needs and a thorough understanding of the company’s editorial guidelines, you will also be responsible for recognising opportunities for collaboration within the company and externally. With a strong track record of establishing and developing a broad range of relationships you will take responsibility of expanding the slate of work for the business. The ideal candidate will have proven editorial skills and a thorough understanding and experience of managing content in terms of Editorial Policy, Commercial Policy, Producers Guidelines, Technical Standards and Health and Safety and must have excellent communication skills to ensure relationships with teams inside and outside of the company and Studios remains effective. You must be adaptable and resilient to be able to cope with the pressure of helping to win business, managing the demands of a high volume of work, meeting tight deadlines and managing a team.
