Overview

We are looking for a Legal Cashier to join an established private client law firm, located across from Oxford Street. Recognised for their tailored service, this firm has earned its reputation as a leading practice for high net worth individuals. Responsibilities General banking, including checking and processing CHAPS, BACS, and international payments from office and client accounts as required Posting onto client and office ledgers. Processing of disbursements and supplier invoices Dealing with queries from Partners and fee earners on a daily basis, which involves interaction with senior members of staff, by telephone and email Daily client and office bank reconciliations Administer 'designated deposit’ client bank accounts. Assisting in the administration of the Purchase Ledger The preparation of the daily, weekly and monthly reports. Monitoring direct debits and standing orders Handling petty cash. Opening and closing accounts Dealing with staff expenses. Credit card reconciliation Assisting with quarterly tax digital payments. Checking nominal accounts Assisting with the yearly external audit. Investigating and resolving unallocated payments and receipts Candidate Profile Previous experience in a legal cashiering team, with 3 years minimum experience is essential An understanding of the conveyancing process would be desirable The ability to read and interpret client and office matter ledgers Strong numeracy skills Capable of prioritising workload, and the ability to work unsupervised Competence in IT, especially Excel, but also Word and Outlook Important Notice It is Career Legal’s policy, as a matter of courtesy, to respond to all applications within three working days.
