Project Accountant Job, Birmingham City Centre, Competitive Salary, Leading Local Authority Your new company Birmingham City Council are currently recruiting for a Project Accountant to start ASAP on a temporary, ongoing basis. Your new role As a qualified Accountant, you will be required to develop a financial model to control project finance. This will be from quoting to billing and utilising different sources of information. You will develop a financial model that is specific to major IT programmes, providing a consistent approach to managing finances. In addition, it will be your responsibility for maintaining an aligned position of amounts captured in the PPM tool (Planview) against project WBS charges on the financial ledger (SAP Voyager) relating to agency staff and non-labour charges; providing corrective action where necessary. You will also have an understanding of Capital and Revenue funding and expenditures, with a requirement to maintain a position of actual and forecast spend against the budgeted/funded amounts. What you'll need to succeed As a qualified Accountant with recent experience, you will have an understanding of business planning with forecasting within a project environment. You will have provided financial information to inform project decisions, recognising consequence against cost, schedule and quality. Knowledge of SAP Voyager would be highly beneficial, but not essential.
