Overview
Client: Psixty are working with an international PLC with a 25 year year history of growth. This Technology Vendor are strongly positioned as a market leader as an Enterprise Data Storage solution provider. Their experiences in redundant and high availability hardware design and proprietary firmware/ software integration capability is what sets them apart from other Linux-based NAS providers. Their UK team has doubled in size this year alone with continued growth forecast for 2020 and with that comes the requirement for a Technical Pre-sales Engineer. Role: Technical Presales Key missions: Business enablement by presenting the business as a company and its solutions to address customers’ business and technological needs with the commensurate level of communication chosen for maximum comprehension Train and update customers (mostly channel partners) to empower them with product and business knowledge necessary to promote their solutions Be able to work independently (including travelling when required) to build a rapport with key accounts (existing and new). We perceive a strong presales candidate to be convincing in his/her approach to introducing customers to the brand Configure and recommend the appropriate storage solutions for customers with the goal to maximize project participation and win rate Examples of responsibilities: Provide pre-sales technical support Support the sales team by taking a consultative role in supporting customer's evaluation processes, including making architectural recommendations Train customers to master the products & fit them into their applications Troubleshooting development/configuration issues, and managing escalation to Technical Support and development teams Articulate and educate technical and architectural storage concepts to a variety of audiences, including resellers, distributors, developers, architects, IT operations professionals and senior IT management Sell the value of their products using multiple formats/channels, including phone, presentations, and live/online product demonstrations (both internally and externally) Translation of relevant information sources including websites, eDMs, whitepapers, etc. to local language where applicable (region dependent) Work directly with customers to ensure the business is meeting project deadlines and raising any issues to BDMs throughout the whole process Perform reseller and customer technical product training and certifications Performing post installation follow ups with resellers to ensure products meet requirements resolving any issues Provide feedback on features, issues, trends, and other product or market related concerns that affect product sales and acceptance Develop self knowledge of major competitors and baseline knowledge of all other competition Work with Technical Support when required to provide post-sale support Complete management assigned MBO’s within the designated time frame Investigate new solution areas for product extensions Completing any other ad hoc tasks including tender documents Technical knowledge or one or more of the following technologies: SAN, NAS, Unified Storage - File and Block storage & protocols Cloud Infrastructures Microsoft Windows Server; LinuxCluster File SystemsWindows AD, LDAP VirtualisationHypervisors (VMWarevSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix) Backup/Restore operations RAID configurations Overview of IP/FC networks and security Disaster recovery and business resiliency Systems Management & Monitoring Database Technologies
