Vacancy: HR Advisor Division: HR Advisory Team Location: On site at the client - Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust Hours: Monday to Friday, shifts between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm The Role Capsticks HR Advisory Service is an innovative service which has been developed by the firm to deliver outsourced HR advice and support to NHS organisations on a range of complex and day-to-day ER and HR issues. We work alongside the client’s internal HR team to provide specialist advice in accordance with their local policies and procedures. The HR Advisory Service provides an Employee Relations service to Cumbria, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust whereby the HR Advisor will be required to be based at their HQ and attend the Trust’s other sites. The HR Advisor acts as the first point of contact for the clients’ managers and are responsible for the provision of a dedicated Employee Relations HR advisory service that compliments the clients’ other HR initiatives. The HR Advisor will also give on-site advice, guidance and administrative support at formal employee relations meetings and hearings. Main Duties and Responsibilities To provide general HR advice, guidance and support to all managers of the client, relating to the interpretation of policies and procedures, terms and conditions and employment issues e.g. discipline, grievance, absence management, terms and conditions (this list is not exhaustive), based on the clients policies and procedures, best practice and the latest employment case law; Provide on-site advice, guidance and administrative support to managers at formal meetings, and to support the manager, where necessary, at the clients’ site locations; To work to the clients agreed KPI’s and timescales, providing a high quality and efficient service; To assist the clients managers produce high quality documentation following investigations and formal processes, such as investigation reports and outcome letters; To liaise and work with the clients HR staff to provide a seamless HR service, to meet with and provide up to date information on ER cases as required by the client; Skills set Training will be provided although candidates should have: Previous NHS experience or experience working within a unionised environment in the public sector; Commercial understanding and working to deadlines; Hold a CIPD (or equivalent) qualification, or be working toward this qualification; An excellent knowledge of a broad range of ER issues and the ability to advise on risk; Good range of IT skills, including the use of Microsoft® Outlook™, Word™ and Excel Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate at interview that they are: Professional, self-motivated and proactive in their approach; Well organised; Focused on the delivery of a first class service; Robust in their approach, with the ability to win the trust and confidence of their colleagues; and The Firm Capsticks is a leading provider of legal services to the health, social care and housing sectors, as well as in the field of professional discipline.
